Urinary incontinence affects up to 1 in 3 women. An Australian study found that over a three-month period “50% of women aged 45-59 years of age experienced some degree of mild, moderate or severe urinary incontinence.

In fact, millions of women worldwide have pelvic floor issues such as incontinence & prolapse (when the pelvic organs drop down and create a bulge in or out of the vagina).

We’ve all probably once said: “I laughed so hard I nearly peed myself.” Well, for many women that isn’t a joke; it’s a reality.

Why are my pelvic floor muscles so important?

The pelvic floor muscles sit inside like a hammock or a swing at the bottom of your pelvis, which supports the pelvic organs (bladder, uterus, and rectum.

 

These muscles  play an important role in the following:

  • They keep organs in their correct anatomical position

  • Prevent incontinence/leaking, even while sleeping

  • Allow for waste elimination

  • Accommodate childbirth

  • Enhance sexual sensation 

  • Are part of the core muscles (Important for abdominal tone/posture and stabilisation)

What will I learn on the course?

This Discreetly Fit unique pelvic floor course offers a Real-Time Ultrasound (private & non-invasive), so you can learn and practice pelvic floor exercises correctly.

 

You will learn how to:

  • fix bladder control or remain leak-free

  • Understand how to protect your pelvic

       floor in daily life

  • Reverse or prevent prolapse

  • Enhance sensation during intimacy

  • Feel younger

  • Optimize the function and tone of abs

  • Eradicate pelvic heaviness/pain

Why is the course 4.5 hours long?

For pelvic floor exercises to work, however, they must be correct, focused, structured, and of just the right intensity. You will learn two pelvic floor exercise routines, with the highest strengthening potency. You can easily perform them in 5-10 minutes without anyone knowing you are doing them.

There is quite a lot of practical and theoretical information to cover.

However, your body will forever be grateful as you will be able to control and help this very important part of your body.

 

Is it normal to be anxious about the Ultrasound scan?

The scan (which is optional) is non-invasive as the scanner is placed on your abdominal wall. You won’t need to remove any items of clothing. 

In private, you will be asked to perform a pelvic floor contraction so that you can see your muscles working. There is no pass or fail. We use the scanner as a tool to help you to connect with your invisible muscles.

Will I have to share my experiences with the group?

There are no embarrassing questions, examinations, or vaginal devices involved.

The course is set in a very relaxed environment. We will teach you the essential strategies to help your body cope with certain issues that can affect your confidence and self-esteem. We will equip you with strategies to protect your pelvic floor and prevent future issues.

The great news is that this is a one-off course as the exercises you will learn will help and be relevant throughout your life.
